Two Ways to Export Google Ads Reports
Google Ads gives you two solid export paths. Pick based on what you need.
Why you'd want to export a Google Ads report
Exported data lives outside Google's interface. That makes it easy to share with clients, feed into spreadsheets, or archive for quarterly reviews. It also lets you compare performance across time periods without being locked into the Google Ads UI.
Choosing between web interface and Google Ads Editor
Use the web interface when you need formatted reports in PDF or Google Sheets, or when you want scheduled email delivery. Use Google Ads Editor when you need a full account export, including creative assets in a ZIP archive.

Method 1: Export Reports from the Web Interface
The web interface lets you pull reports in seconds from any statistics table.
How to download a report from statistics tables
Per Google's Ads Help Center, click the Download icon above any statistics table. A format dropdown appears. Select your format and the file downloads immediately.
Download formats available (CSV, TSV, PDF, XLSX, XML, Google Sheets)
Six formats are available:
- CSV - best for spreadsheet analysis and data imports
- TSV - tab-separated, useful for certain database workflows
- PDF - clean and presentation-ready for clients
- XLSX - native Excel format with formatting intact
- XML - structured data for custom pipelines
- Google Sheets - opens directly in Drive for team collaboration
Creating and exporting custom reports from Report Editor
Google Ads Report Editor lets you build reports with custom dimensions and metrics. Save them for repeated use. When the report is ready, click the download icon to export in your preferred format. One important note: per Google Ads documentation, saved reports not accessed in 18 months are automatically deleted from your account.

Method 2: Export Account Data Using Google Ads Editor
Google Ads Editor is a free desktop app for bulk account management. Its export feature handles full accounts with no row limits.
Exporting your whole account
Go to Account menu > Export > Export whole account. Google Ads Editor exports a CSV containing every campaign, ad group, ad, keyword, and extension in your account.
Exporting selected campaigns or ad groups
Select the specific campaigns or ad groups you want. Then go to Account menu > Export > Export selected campaigns and ad groups. Only those items land in the file.
Exporting with images (ZIP archive)
Need creative assets alongside the data? Choose CSV files with images in zip archive. Your CSV and all ad images export together in one ZIP file. This is the fastest way to hand off an account to a new team or agency.
What's included in CSV export
Per Google Ads Editor Help, the CSV export automatically includes any performance statistics you've already downloaded. Original column names stay intact. That matters: if you edit the data and re-import it, Google Ads Editor uses those original column headers to map everything back correctly.

Automating Report Exports: Schedule and Email
Manual exports work. Scheduled ones save more time.
Setting up scheduled reports
Open any saved report in the web interface. Click Schedule. Set your frequency and format. Google Ads sends the report to your email at the interval you choose.
Choosing frequency and format
Options include daily, weekly, monthly, or quarterly delivery. Per Google's Ads Help Center, individual account reports start running at 1 AM in your designated time zone. Manager account reports start at 5 AM. Accounts without a designated time zone default to Pacific Time.
Who can receive scheduled reports
Only users with direct access level permission on the account can receive scheduled report emails. Users with manager-level-only access or limited permissions won't appear in the recipient list.

Export Best Practices
Match your format to your audience and intended use.
Which format to use for different purposes
- PDF for client-facing reports and executive summaries
- XLSX or CSV for pivot tables, charts, and deeper analysis
- Google Sheets for shared team dashboards with live comments
- XML for feeding data into custom reporting pipelines or BI tools
Preserving performance history when editing exported data
Don't rename or delete the statistics columns in an export you plan to re-import. Google Ads Editor uses original column headers to match data on import. Changing column names breaks that mapping and can cause import errors or overwrite the wrong fields.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I schedule Google Ads reports to send automatically?
Yes. Open any saved report in the Google Ads web interface and click Schedule. Set your preferred frequency (daily, weekly, monthly, or quarterly) and format. Google Ads emails the report automatically at the interval you choose. Only users with direct access level permission on the account can be added as recipients.
What is the best format to export Google Ads data for Excel?
Use XLSX for native Excel formatting or CSV for maximum compatibility with any spreadsheet tool. Both work well with pivot tables and formulas. If you plan to re-import data into Google Ads Editor, use CSV and keep the original column headers intact.
How do I export Google Ads data with ad images?
Use Google Ads Editor. Go to Account menu > Export and choose 'CSV files with images in zip archive'. Your account data and all ad images download together in a single ZIP file.
Why did my saved Google Ads report disappear?
Per Google Ads documentation, saved reports that have not been accessed in over 18 months are automatically deleted from your account. To keep a report, access or re-save it before that window closes.
